After having published Une belle mort three years ago, Sirpus Ediciones has acquired another novel by Gil Courtemanche, Le Monde, le lézard et moi, for Spanish translation.
Toronto-based publisher House of Anansi has acquired the English translation rights to Mai au bal des prédateurs, Marie-Claire Blais’s latest novel. As with the previous books, Nigel Spencer will do the translation.
With their essay about the management of ethnic diversity, Laïcité et liberté de conscience, Jocelyn Maclure and Charles Taylor have had good success, with rights sold to four countries since the release in February : France (La Découverte), Italy (Laterza), Spain (Anaya) and US/UK (Harvard University Press).
Les Pieds sales, the long listed Goncourt novel by Edem Awumey, will be translated in Spanish by Baile del sol publisher. Recently, the rights of this book have also been sold for the territories of Canada/US (House of Anansi), France (Le Seuil) and the Netherlands (Querido).

Raison d’Agir, the French publisher headed by Jérôme Bourdieu, has acquired the European rights for Parlons science, a collection of interviews with historian of sciences Yves Gingras and journalist Yannick Villedieu.
